This collection is only to display on the home page. You can update this collection by adding/removing "FEATURED" (in capital) tag to any product you  want to display on home page.
The very first image of the product will be displayed on home page product list section but on the product page we will skip the first image for all the product which has "FEATURED" tag. All other products will be rendered as usual.
